چکیده

Abstract Background Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration/biopsy (EUS-FNA/B) is a standard method for pathological diagnosis of pancreatic solid lesions. The EchoTip ProCore 20G® (PC20), 20-gauge biopsy needle with forward-bevel core trap, has been available in Japan since 2015. Methods We compared the efficacy PC20 that 22G® (PC22) and Acquire (AC22) EUS-FNA/B diagnosing cancer. This retrospective study included 191 patients cancer who underwent using PC20, PC22, or AC22 at our facility from April 2013 to October 2019. investigated patients’ clinical characteristics diagnostic accuracy safety each needle. Results A sufficient stroke length puncture was secured all patients. maximum under EUS shorter (22.1 ± 2.2 mm) than (30.6 0.7 mm, p < 0.01) PC22 (30.3 0.8 0.01). histological 96.4% but only 58.8% (adjusted ( p- adj) 0.0001) 75.0% adj = 0.06). combination histology cytology while it 72.1% 91.7% > 0.99). One patient (0.9%) group developed mild pancreatitis, no adverse events occurred other needles. Conclusions showed better capability PC22. similar between AC22. high could be advantageous lesions which assessment critical.

Fine-needle aspiration biopsy versus core-needle biopsy in diagnosing lung cancer: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND Lung cancer leads cancer-related mortality in the world. The objective of the present systematic review was to compare fine-needle aspiration biopsy (fnab) with core-needle biopsy (cnb) for diagnostic characteristics and yields for diagnosing lung cancer in patients with lung lesions. METHODS The medline and embase databases (from January 1, 1990, to September 14, 2009), the Cochra...

Concordance Rate between Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy and Core Needle Biopsy in Breast Lesions

Background and Objectives:Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is one of the methods of breast biopsy which is fast, easy and cost effective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concordance rate between pathologic results of sonography or stereotaxy guided FNAB and guided core needle biopsy (CNB) in the evaluation of breast le...

Autoimmune Pancreatitis Diagnosed with Core Biopsy Obtained from a Novel Fork-Tip EUS Needle

The endoscopic diagnosis of autoimmune pancreatitis from histologic criteria remains challenging as it requires adequate architectural details rather than cytology alone. A 67-year-old man presented with progressive abdominal pain and weight loss. Cross-sectional imaging showed inflammatory changes of the pancreatic body and tail and periaortitis on abdominal computed tomography, but normal ser...

Accuracy of Core Needle Biopsy Versus Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology for Diagnosing Salivary Gland Tumors

BACKGROUND Core needle biopsy is a relatively new technique used to diagnose salivary gland lesions, and its role in comparison with fine needle aspiration cytology needs to be refined. METHODS We compared the results of 228 ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy and 371 fine needle aspiration procedures performed on major salivary gland tumors with their postoperative histological diagnoses. ...
